An excellent strategic location

Kaunas Free Economic Zone is located at the intersection of the main transport corridors.

The Motorway A6 runs from Warsaw to Saint Petersburg and passes through the capitals of other Baltic states, namely, Riga and Tallinn. The Motorway A1 connects Kaunas FEZ to Klaipėda Seaport and Vilnius and goes further towards Minsk, Kiev and Moscow.

Kaunas FEZ is quite convenient to reach from the entire territory of Lithuania, too.

The quality of road pavements in Lithuania is one of the best in Europe.

Lithuania occupies the first position in Central and Eastern Europe in the realm of transport and railway infrastructure / Global Competitiveness Report by World Economic Forum, 2014.

Intermodal

Kaunas Intermodal Terminal is the second largest cargo-loading station in Lithuania. It is located in Palemonas, just 4 kilometres away from Kaunas FEZ. It is planned to establish a railway connection between the terminal operating in Palemonas and the territory of the FEZ.  It will provide a possibility for all companies working there to use the railway infrastructure in an effective manner.

Rail transport comes to Kaunas from the seaports of Klaipėda and Kaliningrad and it travels further to reach the markets in Russia, Ukraine and Byelorussia and to get to the sources of raw materials (Crete transport corridor 9).

The neighbourhood of Kaunas Airport and Kaunas FEZ turns the city of Kaunas into an attractive destination for receiving goods or sending them away. The airport runway is 3.250 meters long and namely such a length gives a possibility to receive any kind of aircraft and accommodate the current aircraft transport flows as well as the targeted ones.

Klaipėda State Seaport is the only ice–free port on the North-eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, located 220 kilometres away from Kaunas.

Kaunas FEZ is only a 20 minute drive away from the city centre and about a 10-15 minute drive away from the major residential areas and that factor helps to ensure an easy and rapid access to the FEZ for the staff.

Decision to settle up the biggest parcel sorting terminal in the Baltic States, here in Kaunas Free Economic Zone, was made because of steadily growing sales and leading position in the market for small shipping. Kaunas is in logistically convenient location so the new terminal will help to optimize increasing parcel flows.
