The constantly growing parcel delivery company DPD constructed the most modern parcel sorting terminal of DPD both in Lithuania and all the Baltic States in the territory of Kaunas FEZ in just 10 months in 2015. The only automatic parcel sorting conveyor able to sort approximately 50 thousand parcels is operating here.
The terminal was constructed in a 2.6 ha area territory; its area covers 5,000 sq. m., 4,400 sq. m. of which is intended for distribution of parcels and 600 sq. m. for administrative premises.
Kaunas terminal is an important part of the DPD network: the flows of parcels of European, Scandinavian and Baltic countries intersect here. Parcels received from and sent abroad are distributed in the terminal; therefore, it was constructed in a strategically convenient place – in Kaunas free economic zone, close to the main trunk roads and airport.
DPD Lietuva is a part of the international French company DPD group. It is the second biggest network delivering international parcels in Europe which unites the companies of DPD, Chronopost, SEUR and Interlink Express. DPD has been operating for nearly two decades in Lithuania; over 400 couriers deliver approximately 30,000 parcels every day.
