The largest part of the territory’s business community consists of companies in the automotive and industrial electronics, food industry, construction products and life sciences sectors that apply advanced manufacturing and logistics solutions. Large sites, developed infrastructure and strategic location gave FREDA the opportunity to quickly implement the investment project and consistently expand its activities. US medical giant Hollister has established one of its most important global manufacturing units in Kaunas FEZ. Since 2019, the initial investment of €50 million has grown consistently, exceeding the €100 million mark. The largest cleanrooms in the region operate here, and the team has grown to 850 specialists. Modern infrastructure and an abundance of talent have allowed the company to successfully concentrate its manufacturing, financial and product development competencies in Kaunas.
Automotive electronics manufacturer FORVIA HELLA chose Kaunas FEZ for its ninth component plant in Europe. The decision was driven by the strategically convenient location and the opportunity to implement the investment project within an especially short period of just 12 months. Today, almost 500 employees work at the Kaunas plant, and the strong regional education ecosystem ensures a steady pipeline of engineers, production specialists and production line operators.

Onninen, a technical wholesaler belonging to the Finnish KESKO group, established its Kaunas FEZ logistics centre in a record-breaking, just 18-month, period. The modern logistics centre is Onninen’s main distribution centre in Lithuania, serving customers throughout the country every day. It also ensures the efficient supply of goods from Kaunas to colleagues in the Baltic states. Operating in eight European countries, the company is one of the largest technical wholesalers in Northern Europe.
