Kaunas is a university city where business and academic institutions closely cooperate: R&D activities are carried out together, study programmes are improved, specialised talent development projects are developed, such as “Future for Electronics” and “Study in Kaunas”. This ensures a consistent addition of qualified labour to the manufacturing sector.

Compared to major Western European cities, the cost of living in the region is significantly lower, ensuring greater purchasing power and a more favourable ratio of living costs to income for professionals.

Kaunas offers families of international professionals a high-quality educational infrastructure. The city’s five schools, which offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) and other international programmes in English, create conditions for smooth continuity of children’s education and family integration.

The city consistently invests in sustainable mobility, sports, leisure and cultural infrastructure, creating an attractive environment to live and work. International cultural, sports and business events strengthen Kaunas’ position as a modern and open European city and help attract talents from other Lithuanian cities and abroad.
