Hella Lithuania launch in Kaunas FEZ

Hella, the German manufacturer of car electronics and lighting, signed a 99-year land lease contract with the company managing Kaunas FEZ in 2017 under which a factory producing components of car electronics will be constructed in the leased 8.9 ha lot in four developmental stages.

The team of Hella Lithuania managed to construct and install its 8,000 sq. m. premises in a record time of 11 months. Production premises, warehouse and administrative building started operation in the first stage of development. The value of this stage amounts to EUR 30 million and it is aimed to hire 250 employees during it.

Hella enjoys a uniquely favourable technical position since both the lighting and electronics segments are combined under one roof.

A push forward for country’s car industry

Hella factory located in Kaunas FEZ manufactures sensors, control mechanisms, and actuators of different types. The company manufactured and shipped to its customers over 1 million products in 2018-2019. Manufacturing volumes are planned to increase with each developmental stage.

Hella is considered to be the first big player of the car components market in Lithuania and its choice to settle down in Kaunas FEZ drove the whole car industry sector of the country.
